rides on May 7 & 8

posted May 3, 2011, 6:00 PM by Mark Beaver
We had a great ride last Saturday - ten riders on a day that turned out warm and sunny.

This weekend we have two rides from which to choose:  one Saturday and one Sunday - or do them both!

The ride this Saturday is a perennial club favourite, the Wentworth - Nuttby ride.

This ride meets at the school at Lower Onslow, just north of Truro.  Take Highway 102 to Truro, cross the bridge over the Salmon River, and it's the next exit.  Turn left off the exit and the school is a couple hundred meters.

This ride will depart at 9AM.  Distance is 130km.  We'll ride through through Debert on the way to Folly Mountain and Wentworth, then turn right onto the very scenic Rt 246 to Tatamagouche for lunch.  We'll then return to Onslow via Earltown and North River.  Maps and cue sheets will be provided.

On Sunday we will ride our first scheduled century (100 miles or 160km) of the year - this ride will assemble at Graham's Grove in Dartmouth, riding out to Waverley then on to Mount Uniacke and Brooklyn; then up Route 14 to Nine Mile River and Elmsdale - then back in the Waverley Road.  Map link is

Again, maps and cue sheets will be provided.  Hope to see everyone out this weekend!
