Hi all - congratulations to all those who rode the 400k brevet this past weekend - you should rightfully be proud of your accomplishment - especially the four first-time 400k finishers.

Well, this coming weekend we have a ride that doesn't involve lights; or reflective stuff; or battery packs - this weekend's ride is a pleasant 125km ride in the Musquodoboit and Stewiacke valleys.

The ride this weekend is on SUNDAY - not Saturday - SUNDAY - got it?

The ride is entitled, "Wittenburg - Upper Stewiacke" and will assemble at the carpool parking lot just off Exit 9 off Highway 102 in Milford.  Please arrive to depart at 9AM.  (Don't come on Saturday.)  Link to the route is

We'll head out through pleasant farmland and forest to Carroll's Corner and Coldstream to Wittenburg and Middle Musquodoboit.  We then continue up the valley to Upper Musquodoboit where riders will have the OPTION of crossing to Upper Stewiacke by the very scenic (and steep) Stewart Hill Road, or to go up the 336 via the community of Dean and Southside Road, adding 10km but a prettier and gentler climb.  We'll reassemble in Upper Stewiacke - either at the Co-op store or at Bev's Country Diner across the street for refreshments.  We then continue to Middle Stewiacke and Brookfield, thence back to Milford again.  Distance will be 125km via Stewart Hill or 135km via Dean.

Expecting to see a good crowd out on Sunday, and planning to hear some interesting tales of the brevet rides thus far this spring being told!
