600k brevet June 18&19

posted Jun 12, 2016, 5:22 AM by Mark Beaver

OK folks, it's time for one of our bigger cycling challenges of the year - our annual 600km brevet.

This ride will assemble at the Armdale Roundabout to depart at 0600 hrs on Saturday June 18th.

Note that there is a REVISED ROUTE for the ride - the new route is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/14259421

Please use this route for the upcoming ride and disregard the previous route sheet from the schedule.  Print off a copy of the cue sheet and bring it with you.

This route is designed by Dave Ross.

We will head down the South Shore to Chester and Bridgewater, then inland past Keji Park to Bear River and ride the scenic River Road to admire the views, then head to Annapolis Royal and Middleton.  Our overnight stay will be at the Middleton Motel.  I've reserved some rooms there - $89 + tax double occupancy - they are reserved under my name, see the front desk when you arrive to check in and pay.

Sunday morning we'll head up the length of the Annapolis Valley on quiet roads to Wolfville, then on to Windsor, Brooklyn, Kennetcook, Noel and Maitland, then on to Gay's River, Enfield and back to Halifax again.

Please let me know by Thursday afternoon of your intention to participate so that I can prepare your brevet cards for you.
